Dry Skin - the entire face feels tight and dehydrated, without any oily sheen, a tendency towards fine lines, flaking and with a lacklustre appearance. This is due to an underproduction of the skin's natural moisturiser, sebum, by the skin's oil glands. Skin can be itchy and sensitive. Skin that shows signs of premature aging or is mature may fall into this category. Hydrating from within by drinking adequate water and hydrating from outside using RôKaí Floral Waters (hydrosols)can help this skin type. Many of our customers have remarked at how they have been surprised that, when using RôKaí Bathmelts for the first time, they have not needed to apply their usual moisturisers after bathing. Oily Skin - Excess sebum made by overactive oil glands in the skin is produced on all zones of the face, especially though the T-zone (forehead, nose, chin), which can appear shiny not long after cleansing. Common problems may include blemishes and clogged pores. This skin type is prone to acne as sebum becomes trapped in the pores and developes into pus-filled lesions. It is very important to balance the skin without stripping it of its natural moisture. Although oily skin does suffer these unfortunate drawbacks, it does generally remain softer and more supple than other skin types over time, looking younger for longer. Periodic use of our Organic Cleaning Facial Clay can benefit oily skin, drawing out impurities and excess oils in the skin.

Normal Skin - Most of the facial zones seem balanced - not too oily, not too dry - but may feel a little oily on the nose come the day's end. The oil glands are generally producing sebum in a balanced manner, making skin plumper, moist and vibrant. Breakouts of acne are rare. Dehydration and a lacklustre appearance could be a main concern.
